Since Netflix announced that it would be adding a number of games to its movie and television show streaming platform back in 2021, which came as a huge surprise to many loyal fans, myself included, the company has continued releasing fresh new content on a regular basis throughout the year.
The exclusive Netflix titles were originally only available on mobile (iOS and Android) platforms.
However, anyone who has recently logged into their Netflix account may have noticed, just like I did in early February 2025, that a selection of titles is now available to play on Smart TVs (and on the desktop version of their platform) as part of your subscription – no extra fees.
With that said, let’s dive straight in and take a closer look at their unique entertainment service to find out how the company plans to grow this branch in 2025.
What exactly is Netflix Games, and how do they plan to grow this service in 2025?
The service was first made available to Netflix users with iOS and Android smartphones and tablet devices back in November 2021. Content could be played within the Netflix app on both of these mobile platforms.
I heard about it at the time and remember there were only a handful of titles available initially, but I don’t think I actually played any of them for at least a year after they arrived.
In November 2022, the company added a general knowledge/trivia title called Triviaverse.
In August 2023, I believe the company began testing cloud-streamed content, and then in 2025 (February 1, to be more precise), Netflix subscribers who logged in to their accounts from a laptop, desktop computer or Smart TV could now play a handful of fast-loading titles using a mousepad or remote control.
When you next log into your Netflix account from a PC or TV, you should notice a brand-new section that says ‘Games’ [BETA cloud platform], as it is still only available in the beta testing version. When I last checked, there were over 15 titles.
The first one I tried was called Underwatermelon: Fruit Merge, which is essentially a low-quality but otherwise good arcade title, but others will call it a social or mini-game, but there are several fun categories to suit all types of players.
Others that you might like to try are the following:
- Name: Cozy Grove – Camp Spirit. Type: Simulation
- Name: Story Warriors – Fairy Tales. Type: Puzzle/Interactive Story
- Name: Too Hot to Handle 3. Type: Simulation
- Name: Rocket. Type: Arcade
- Name: Mole Gem Mayhem. Type: Arcade
- Name: Caverns of Mars – Recharged. Type: Arcade
Other new releases that are also now available to play on Netflix, which I have had time to try yet, are Link Twin (puzzle), Infernax (adventure, role-playing, action), Centipede – Recharged (arcade), and Oxenfree (adventure/interactive story).
You may also like to try The Almost Gone, Reigns, and Reigns – Three Kingdoms. Some of them are suitable for all ages, whereas others come with a 7+, 13+ or 16+ age rating.
Is Netflix planning on expanding by introducing classic table & card favourites?
It’s unclear yet whether Netflix will add classic table & card favourites, such as blackjack, poker, roulette, craps, sic bo, baccarat or poker, or computer-generated, feature-rich online fruit machines like the ones you can play right now on any of the legally-permitted iGaming sites currently featured on the official askgamblers.com review site.
If you decide to play content like this on a fully licensed and regulated website, always remember to gamble responsibly and stick to betting on trustworthy sites like those recommended by the experts on the website that I just mentioned.
From what I’ve seen, this new desktop/smart TV entertainment service from Netflix is slightly different from the mobile app version. However, one thing that is the same is that each title is ad-free (for now, anyway). They are also free of additional hidden fees and other microtransactions.
I currently pay £17.99 for my Netflix subscription, which I begrudge, but you can get it for as little as £4.99 (standard, with ads).
Unfortunately, you can’t use crypto yet on Netflix, so you’ll just have to pay for your subscription using any of the available digital wallets/eWallets currently accepted here or your Visa/Mastercard credit or debit card.
Prepaid cards, virtual cards, Netflix gift cards, and Apple gift cards are also accepted at the Netflix checkout.
Which other famous Netflix titles may soon arrive on the desktop/smart TV platforms?
Mobile users can now access well over 70 other titles, many of which may soon be arriving on desktop/smart TV platforms. Some of their other popular categories include tabletop titles, racing, sports, strategy, card, and music.
If you have a smartphone or tablet device and want to try some of their mobile titles, some of my favourites that I can recommend keeping an eye out for are Stranger Things 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Before Your Eyes, Into the Dead 2: Unleashed, Sonic Prime Dash, and LEGA Legacy: Heroes Unboxed.
If that’s not enough to keep you going, then I can also recommend trying Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, Tomb Raider Reloaded, Raji: An Ancient Epic, Asphalt Xtreme, Puzzle Gods, Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited, Dust & Neon, Card Blast, and Mahjong Solitaire, to name a few.
